Keen - Wallenius Wilhelmsen is seeking a High & Heavy Machine Assembler responsible for handling all activities with heavy equipment/vehicles. 


Job Description

• Abide by all OSHA standards and company safety regulations.
• Operation of heavy construction and/or agricultural equipment
• Work with an array of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Interpretation of machine manuals and schematics for assembly or repair purposes.
• Use of hand and air powered tools.
• Physical demands. Please refer to the list of physical activities required for this position.
• Must possess a valid driver license.

• Operation of lift truck and heavy construction and agricultural equipment; positioning for work and testing purposes.

Operate various track and rubber tired equipment including but not limited to tractors, wheel loaders, excavators, dozers, dump-trucks, skid steers and lift trucks.
• Must provide own tools and be able to operate the following tools including but not limited to: grinders, sanders, drills, impact wrenches, wrenches, pry bars, measuring devices, drill press.
• Housekeeping and maintenance as required: Keep shop/work area clean and report any company equipment in need of repair.
• Follow directions from any supervisor to complete all assigned tasks timely and safely.
• Perform many different types of job functions as required by the workload including inside and outside assignments.
• Engage and assist with the mounting/connection of blades, buckets, sticks, booms, side-frames, counter-weights, catwalks and safety rails, cabs, ROPS, and other machine parts. Some installations may involve welding skills.
• Installation of machine kits to include but not limited to:
o Air conditioners
o Hydraulic valve kits
o Pre-lube kits
o Fire-suppression systems
o GPS system installations
o Weatherization packages

Job Requirements

  • Ability to satisfy the physical requirements of the job listed below:
  • Frequent lifts and carrying of up to 50 pounds for distances of 50 feet (could include oak blocks used for rigging and transport of machines).
  • Overhead lifting of 50 pounds
  • Climbing to and working at heights of up to 15 feet
  • Completing a full workday walking and/or standing
  • Perform work from a wide range of positions including: standing, sitting, bending , reaching, kneeling, reclining, from scaffolding or ladders
  • Sufficient hand and arm strength to un-package, install, or remove machine parts. May include the use of a 20 pound sledgehammer or other hand or power tools.
  • Pushing and pulling heavy material handling equipment such as floor cranes or jacks, and engaging in activities such as rolling tires or moving oak blocking.
  • Sufficient hand dexterity and strength to fasten, insert, and remove bolts and pins of various sizes and weights from a few ounces to 20 pounds and to operate and withstand the impact and vibration of electric and air-powered power tools.
  • Capable of work outside in all reasonable weather conditions
  • Conduct work responsibilities while exposed to dirt, dust, and fumes from the operation of construction equipment, cranes, forklifts, etc.
  • Must pass drug screen and background check as a condition of hire.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems related to construction and agricultural equipment.
  • Operating knowledge of construction and agricultural equipment.
  • Knowledge of the tools used to complete duties of the position.
  • Ability to read and comprehend machine manuals and schematics
  • Must possess a current and valid drivers license.
