    Job Description

    Wallenius Wilhelmsen is looking for a talented candidate to join the Port and Cargo Operations team based in Baltimore, Maryland as Quality Manager.
    This role reports to Head of Port and Cargo Operations North America.
    The candidate should have good experience from general operational matters and be able to manage customer contacts, reporting and follow up.


    Responsibilities

    • Establish aligned and quantitative objectives for cargo handling quality
    • Establish standardized handling practices and quality routines
    • Develop Cargo Handling and Acceptance Policy
    • Port audits and routine follow up
    • Cargo Handling Supplier audits and follow up
    • Supplier training and education
    • Incident analysis and follow up
    • Ocean contract review
    • Cargo handling process analysis and improvement
    • Agent and sub-contractor audits
    • Provide technical expertise on port and cargo operations
    • Challenge, motivate and support Port and Cargo Operations Team.
    • Accept direct accountability for results

    Job Requirements

    • 2-3 years hand-on cargo handling or related experience
    • Detailed understanding of Sea Transport operations, including structural & handling limitations
    • Knowledge of vessel and port capabilities
    • Able to direct a process driven environment and direct corrective action where required
    • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
    • Must be able travel 20-25%
