    Keen Transport, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of ‘B’ Level Mechanic within the Assembly Shop at our Carlisle, PA  facility. This position is responsible for the completion of assigned work within the time and quality limits established. The employee also recognizes their responsibility to perform all work in a safe and efficient manner and to adhere to all the safety rules regarding the use of PPE including the wearing of safety toed work shoes or any other safety equipment deemed necessary.

    Job Description

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Working knowledge of the following mechanical and technical systems and the physical ability to apply this knowledge in a hands on manner:
      • Electrical systems                                         
      • Hydraulics                                             
      • Air-conditioning systems
      • Braking systems                                           
      • Pneumatic and driveline systems      
      • Cooling Systems
    • Capable of using test and measurement tools that apply to areas listed above.
    • Capable of a supporting role and completing all documents associated with the job including work orders.
    • Apply practical knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines and associated systems as indicated in the essential job functions.
    • Troubleshoot and perform diagnostics on various systems for the purpose of disassembly, repair, and reassembly of systems listed in the essential job functions.
    • Use of test equipment including but not limited to:
      • Engine diagnostics                                      
      • Gauges                  
      • Pressure testing equipment
      • Multi-meters                                                 
      • Flow meters          
      • Dial indicators
    • Compression testing equipment
    • Read and understand the following schematics and prints:
      • Hydraulic                      
      • Electrical                
      • Welding
      • Pneumatic                   
      • Braking                                 
      • Mechanical assembly
      • Blueprints                                        
    • Use of hand tools including but not limited to:
      • Saws                              
      • Drill presses          
      • Grinders
      • Punch presses              
      • Press brakes         
      • Track burning equipment
    • Use of all types of measuring equipment including but not limited to:
      • SAE and Metric rulers                  
      • Calipers                 
      • Machinist scale
    • Must be capable of operating heavy construction equipment and forklifts.

    Job Requirements

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Must supply own basic shop tools
    • High School education or demonstrated ability to interpret plans and directions to execute duties listed above and to provide written requests for materials, technical assistance, and for  the completion of work orders or other job related forms, requests, or evaluations.
    • Knowledge with observing and listening to operating equipment to determine malfunctions.
      • Proficiency in the use of basic hand tools including but not limited to hammers, saws, wrenches and pliers, torque wrenches, and air powered equipment.
      • Knowledge of mechanical devices, and tools, including designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
      • Current DOT Physical and CDL required in order to perform State Inspections.
      • Completing a full workday walking and/or standing
    • Maintain regular attendance as may be required for the position.
    • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position.
    • Must pass post-offer drug screen as a condition of hire.
